Prenatal Yoga

In a relaxing and friendly atmosphere pregnant women have the opportunity to explore their bodies and reconnect with their inner wisdom that is so called upon birth and motherhood. Prenatal yoga prepares the physical body by strengthening the uterus and pelvic floor muscles, stretching the spinal column, improving circulation and aiding digestion.

Yoga is also known to ease some common discomforts of pregnancy such as morning sickness, varicose veins, constipation and sciatica. In the third trimester yoga can also aid optimal baby positioning while offering moms varied positions to use during labor. If you are a regular yogini you can carry your regular yoga practice through out your pregnancy.

However if you are new to yoga you can use your practice to get to know your body a little better, to build endurance for labor and delivery and to cultivate relaxation and mindfulness. Yoga is a great way to start bonding with your baby even before he/she is born. In addition the release of endorphins that happens during yoga can also help alleviate anxiety and boost energy. Classes include breath work, meditation and guided visualization.

The first day of class it snowed like the dickens but something drove me to go to class anyway and  I am forever grateful I did. It was an amazing class. Kelly was very knowledgeable and calm. She was authentic and loving. After class i felt like a new person! I talked to her about all my paralyzing fears of becoming a mom labor and she embraced me. She spoke to me about some some of her serious adversity of her own she had faced and handled already being a mom herself. What makes our exchange from our short talk after class profound is that Kelly is the kind of person that immediately made me want to be a better and more spiritual person. I left that class knowing I work to do but that i had found the perfect mentor and teacher to guide me. I also left that class knowing that I am pretty positive if she has had this effect on me after one experience I was pretty confident that if I asked everyone who knew her if they felt like her best friend they would all answer yes. She is this rare kind of person that has a gift to make you feel like you are the most important person in the room and empower you without you even realizing its happening! She is also knowledgeable about all aspects of motherhood and health, childbirth. While I was in labor with my second child Kelly is who I called and walked me through most of it again in five minutes empowered me to get on the mindset I needed to get through my intense back labor and a long car ride to the hospital. I delivered naturally and I attributed a lot that to Kelly reminding me to trust my body I can't say enough about my gratitude to know Kelly and be blessed by her various gifts. All this with her sense of humor that makes me laugh out loud I would highly recommend Kelly Majoch.
